10月12日,瑞典皇家科学院诺贝尔奖委员会宣布将2006年度诺贝尔文学奖授予土耳其作家奥尔罕·帕慕克(Orhan Pamuk)。瑞典文学院在颁奖公告中说,帕慕克“一直在探寻故乡伊斯坦布尔忧郁的灵魂,并发现了表达冲突和不同文化交织的新符号”。
On October 12, the Nobel Prize Committee of the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences announced the award of the 2006 Nobel Prize for Literature to Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk. In its presentation, the Swedish Academy said that Pamuk “has been exploring the gloom of the sultan in Istanbul, homeland, and has discovered new symbols of conflict and different cultures”.
