前言在1923年初版的“学校音乐手册”出版以来,得到各方面的采用和赞扬,使作者们相信他们巳经基本上达到写这本书的目的,这个修订版是在同样的目的下为了适应最近几年音乐教育的要求在内容上进行了修正和发展。所以,我们还是乐意把初版的前言再印出来,因为它对修订版仍然是有具体的指导价值的。
