壮侗语各民族即壮、布依、傣、侗、水、仫佬、毛南、黎等。这些民族同根同源,不仅语言相近,同属汉藏语系壮侗语族,而且历史文化和生活习俗也有诸多相似之处。恋俗音乐,就是该族群共生文化现象的突出一例。已往关于壮侗语族的恋俗音乐活动,认识上曾有多种不同倾向:或强调“性爱”为其主要目的,称之为“性俗音乐活动”;或侧重于“婚姻爱情”,冠之以“婚恋歌曲”或“婚俗音乐活动”;三是将所有此类活动与日本历史上的“歌垣”相提并论,归结为“歌垣”。壮侗语各民族的这类习俗,实际上可归结为“性恋”、“婚恋”、“情恋”三个层次。历史上更多的表现为“性恋”、“婚恋”,即俗称的“依歌择配”,以“性”或
