The “New Left” movement was a social movement dominated by young intellectuals swept Europe and the United States in the 1960s and aroused strong repercussions among the post-war young people in Europe and the United States. The “new left” movement in the United States, on the other hand, has a strong utopian and anti-pro-inclinational tendency, constructive and destructive coexistence that is different from the salient features of other countries. On the one hand, it has made a significant progress in reconstructing the values and cultures of the United States, as well as the human rights of black people and the end of the Vietnam War. At the same time, it is also a prominent shortcoming of organizational disorganization and ideological confusion. Therefore, this article will give a brief exposition of the definition, historical background, development history and impact evaluation of the United States “New Left ”.
