刘明洲,男,字柳之,汉族,1934年生,系当代书法家和陶艺雕刻家,中国书法家协会会员,广西工艺美术大师。他一生以研究楷书为主,出版毛笔、钢笔字帖共9本全国发行。1988年开始研究陶刻,退休后致力于钦州坭兴陶刻字,其坭兴陶艺作品于1998年获广东省刻字比赛一等奖,并为广东省博物馆收藏;2000年参加北京“第二届中国当代优秀刻字艺术家十人邀请赛”。其坭兴陶艺作品《百寿挂碟》《仙球瓶》《龙纹君子钟》等以刀功老辣深受行家喜爱,被国内外各大藏馆珍藏。
