Organized by the Foundry Institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (FICMES), the 11th Asian Foundry Congress (AFC-11) was held on Nov. 12-15, 2011 in Guangzhou, China, a city that has a pleasant climate and very beautiful scenery in November. The theme of the Congress was “Advanced Foundry Technology & Sustainable Development of Foundry Industry”. In the past few years, the Asian foundry industry has shown a rapid development, and attracted more and more attention.
