According to a report by Lianhe Zaobao in Singapore on February 18, 2013, the international civil aviation industry learned from sharks that paint on the surface of aircraft was coated with a coating of shark skin to reduce the air resistance to the aircraft. Lufthansa, Germany’s largest airline, announced in early February that its two Airbus A340-300 passenger aircraft will undergo a two-year “shark skin coating” test from the summer of 2013. Scientists will paint 10 centimeters of paint on eight locations on the fuselage and wing edges of the passenger aircraft to test the effectiveness of the cutting-edge coating to reduce air drag. This coating is the result of a study by the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Applied Materials. Shark skin can reduce the micro vortex and resistance caused by water and body friction, so the shark can swim very fast. Scientists have realized that the shark skin magical effect has been 30 years. Today, techniques that mimic the structure of shark skin are used in many areas, including military and aerospace
