禹县位于河南伏牛山余脉与豫东平原之间的过渡地带,属黄淮海地区的一部分。全县地势西北高东南低,最高点海拔1151米,地貌的基本特点是“山环丘绕,颍川百里”。全县土地面积1492平方公里,其中山区(低山、丘陵)面积占29％,主要分布在境内的西部和北部。因而合理利用山区,不仅对当地的经济发展有重要意义,而且对保持黄淮海平原的生态平衡,减轻自然灾害,发展生产亦有着十分重要的意义。
Yu County is located in the transitional zone between the valleys of Henan Funiu Mountains and the Yudong Plain, which belongs to the Huang-Huai-Hai region. The county topography of northwest high southeast low, the highest point 1151 meters above sea level, the basic features of the landscape is “around the mountain ridge, Yingchuan Barry.” The county land area of 1492 square kilometers, of which mountain (low mountain, hills) area of 29%, mainly in the territory of the western and northern. Therefore, the rational use of mountainous areas not only plays an important role in the economic development of the area, but also plays an important role in maintaining the ecological balance of Huang-Huai-Hai Plain, alleviating natural disasters and developing production.
