目前中国寿险市场新型寿险产品是指投资连结保险、万能保险、分红保险,以及中国保监会认定的其它产品。自从新型寿险产品推向市场以来,已成为各公司保费规模新的增长点,有的公司新型产品的保费收入已经占到了新单保费收入的80%。为了获得更大的市场份额,各家保险公司都不同程度地采取了销售的新手段和新措施,但对新型保险产品的风险防范却有所忽视。一些问题随着新型保险产品的热销一度成为社会各界共同关注的焦点。
