创新思维,是一种开拓人类认识新领域、开创人类认识新成果的思维活动,比如发明新技术、形成新观念、创建新理论这样一些探索未知领域的认知过程中的思维活动就是创新思维。从广义上理解,不仅作出了完整的新发现和新发明的思维过程是创新思维,而且那些尽管没有取得完整发现和发明,但在思考的方法和技巧上,在某些局部的结论和见解上具有新奇独到之处的思维活动也是创新思维。科学研究的过程是:提出假说或猜想,然后,在这个假说或猜想的基础上进行严格的科学实验,得出实验结果,再用此结果检验所提出的假说或猜想。江泽民同志说过,创新是一个民族的灵魂。我们可以引伸为在科学研究中,创新思维是取得科研突破的关键。
