江泽民同志在党的十六大报告中明确提出，我国在新世纪头20年经济建设的主要任务之一，是基本实现工业化，并郑重提出，“走新型工业化道路”。这是党中央在我国进入全面建设小康社会、加快推进社会主义现代化建设的新阶段作出的重大决策。结合实际，认真贯彻这一重大决策，对 Comrade Jiang Zemin clearly stated in the report of the 16th National Party Congress that one of the major tasks of China’s economic construction in the first 20 years of the new century is to achieve basic industrialization, and solemnly put forward, “taking a new road to industrialization.” This is a major decision made by the party Central Committee in the new stage of China’s entry into a comprehensive well-to-do society and accelerating socialist modernization.
