青黛的产地很多,江苏南通专区如皋县一带亦有所产,产量虽不多,但质量亦佳,几年来我们在提取和加工方法上,摸索了点滴经验,供各地参考和交流。端午节左右大青叶第一次收割后,即将鲜青叶浸入水缸或水池中,一般50斤青叶用水8担。浸的时间主要看发酵程度,一般约48小时,至青梗有60%以上发软时即可。另用一空缸,放水8担,加入石灰2.5斤(用东山所产石灰加工的青黛质量较好),取出40%的石灰水留用,然后将浸大青叶的水滤过,取80%投入石灰水中,用竹子慢慢转动,使水旋转;这时再将留下40%量的石灰水和20%量的大青水,全部投入缸中,水面上即有一批一批深蓝色的泡沫浮起,将泡沫捞起,至捞净为止,放在竹匾内晒干(注意怕风吹),即成青黛。余下缸中的青蓝水,就是很好的青蓝色染料,农民用来染白布等,有色美不易退色的优点。

In the past few years, we have explored some experience in extraction and processing methods for reference and exchange. After the first harvest of Daqingye around the Dragon Boat Festival, imminent fresh leaves are immersed in water tanks or pools. Generally, 50 kilograms of leaves are used for 8 kilograms of water. The time of leaching mainly depends on the degree of fermentation, generally about 48 hours, until the green stem has more than 60% softening. Another empty tank is used to discharge 8 lbs of water, and 2.5 lbs of lime is added (the quality of barley produced from Dongshan lime is better), 40% of the lime water is taken out, and then the water soaked with big leaves is filtered and the 80% input is taken. In lime water, slowly rotate with bamboo to make the water rotate; then 40% of lime water and 20% of large Qingshui water will be left in the tank, and a batch of dark blue foam floats on the water surface. From the beginning, the foam will be picked up until the fish is removed, and dried in the bamboo basket (note that the wind is blowing). The blue-blue water in the remaining cylinder is a very good blue-blue dye, which is used by farmers to dye white cloth, and the advantage of colored beauty is not easy to fade.
