Metaphor is the basis of Chinese culture, “Huang Di Nei Jing” as a classic treatise on Chinese medicine, contains a large number of simple and vivid metaphors. Metaphor is not only a rhetorical device, but also a kind of thinking mode and cognitive mode of the world. It accurately translates metaphors in the Yellow Emperor’s Canon of Internal Medicine and plays a decisive role in the external output of TCM culture. In order to better explore and study the process of metaphorical translation, this article uses a new theory of cultural communication - memetics to analyze English translation of the “Yellow Emperor’s Canon of Internal Medicine” by Mr. Li Zhaoguo and Mr. Veith in order to find out the social and cultural background In the process of translation, each translator has its influence and effect on metaphor translation in order to promote the effective dissemination of metaphor memes and promote the further development of TCM culture overseas.
