More than 50 million people in the United States weigh more than 10% or more of their ideal body weight and are considered obese. Of these, 15 million obese people reach a serious threat to their health. Problems due to obesity include diabetes, degenerative joint disease and hypertension, and respiratory complications. The latter is not so familiar to everyone but it is a very important issue. To understand the obesity unique respiratory physiology, in order to better evaluate these complications.
