《红与黑》的主人公于连这个人物形象的成功塑造得益于其性格的复杂性,如果不能理解他的性格,就不能很好地理解整部作品。于连受家庭环境、时代环境、接受的教育等因素影响,形成了一种极端矛盾的性格,这影响着他的言语行为方式,也影响着他的命运。从荣格的原型理论角度分析,于连就像是戴着人格面具,与真实内心的斗争从未停息过,而他对德瑞那夫人的感情也正是阿尼玛原型在夫人身上的投射。在此将利用原型理论中的前两个原型即人格面具以及阿尼玛对于连的性格进行分析。
