纤维复合材料是当前工程结构材料中比强度、比刚度最大的材料。因而它在航空与宇航部门受到极大的重视。近年来,由于能源问题愈来愈严重,要求改善燃料经济性,并且增加纯载重重量,更增加了使用高性能纤维复合材料的迫切性。此外陆上运输行业(包括汽车和火车)、舰船、高速机械、电工器材乃至民用设备等等,都已开始使用复合材料,促使其产量大幅度增加。特别是高性能纤维的生产成本急剧下降,是复合材料应用量增加的最重要原因。以汽车工业为例,可能使用复合材料时第一次费用较贵,但考虑到寿命长,燃料省等因素,其总经济效果是合算的。
Fiber composite material is the current engineering structure of the material than the strength, rigidity than the largest material. It therefore receives great importance in the aerospace and aerospace sectors. In particular, the sharp decline in the cost of producing high-performance fibers is the most important reason for the increased use of composites. In the automotive industry, for example, the first time it may cost more to use composite materials, the overall economic effect is cost-effective given the long life expectancy and fuel economy.
