As a black female writer who shoulders the dual cultural tradition, how to survive, develop and create his own culture or reflect his own cultural value in the white cultural context is a topic that Toni Morrison always pays close attention to. In her view, it is the way of cultural survival of marginalized African Americans only by regaining and respecting their own unique cultural roots and repairing their fragmented cultural tradition. In “Beloved,” Morrison recites African traditional expressions of art - improvisation, including improvisation and improvisation.
