Based on the 552-full3 proposal, Bengal fan drilling will drill through the Bengal Fan Central Station to capture information on Neocene and Paleogene Himalayan orogeny and climate records. The exploration targets the interaction between the growth of the Himalayas and the Tibetan Plateau as well as the development of the Asian monsoon, the process of affecting the carbon cycle and the global climate. The purpose of a deep drilling station design is to establish the early stages of the Himalayan erosion, the collision of the Indian and Eurasian plates, and the history of the Himalayas and the Tibetan Plateau. This section can control the development of the Neo-monsoon Asian monsoon and its impact on sediment supply and flux, as well as quantitatively study the interrelationship between climate change and sediment deposition.
