The recent years have seen a rapid development in the construction of the ports for energy transit in China. The Second Stage Coal Terminal at Qihhuangdao Port and the Coal Terminal at Shijiu Port completed in the Sixth Five-Year-Plan period, are the special terminals exclusively used for exporting coal, featuring modernized sizes and equipment specifications. In this paper, general descriptions are given to the plan layout, design aspects of handling equipment and structures, and major construction procedures of the above mentioned projects.
