Measuring principle Optical fiber displacement measuring instrument is a kind of non-contact measuring instrument which uses optical lever principle to measure shift, vibration and surface condition. With a fiber optic probe, the instrument emits both light and reflected light from the target surface and converts the reflected light into an electrical signal proportional to the target distance. Its output voltage reflects the position, displacement, amplitude, frequency and waveform of the target surface. The working principle of the instrument is shown in Figure 2 and Figure 3.
