In Suko’s edition of “Physics” in the 9th grade textbook “Life, Physics, Society”, there is such a paragraph: The lanterns on the sides of the road and in front of the shops decorate our city. They are made up of many small bulbs in series. Many years ago, after one of these lanterns broke the open circuit, a string of lights would go out at the same time; now when a light bulb goes out, the other bulbs are still bright. However, if you take any light bulb, the entire light bulb will go out. It turns out that the bulb in this type of lantern has a wire in parallel with the filament below its filament holder, as shown in Figure 1.
