我厂翻砂车间在五三年四月学习苏联先进经验,研究采用潮模生产铸钢件。经过一个多月的试验,得出铸钢潮模砂的配合成分。现大部分的重要车辆配件都改用潮模或半潮模铸造。如客车转向架用的构架(每只重1400公斤)、五十吨货车用摇枕(每只重450公斤),侧架(每只重310公斤)以及三号缓冲器中的弹簧箱(每只重90公斤)等都改用潮模,成品率反比用乾模生产高得多。如弹簧箱的成品率每月都超过99%
