As a generalization of the organizational and technological characteristics of Japan’s manufacturing industry, the term “property creation” has become popular in Japan in recent years. Although the word “物 造” is typical Japanese, it has not been used to describe the history of Japanese manufacturing. This article analyzes the sudden popularity of objects made in Japan and its political and economic background. It holds that object creation is indeed a refinement of the essence of Japanese manufacturing to a certain extent. However, its theoretical basis may be related to mercantilist economics and may evolve Become a new form of economic nationalism and run counter to the spirit embodied by globalization and regional economic integration.
