The sensitivity of lymphocytes to radiation has become well known to radiobiologists. As early as 1964, Rugh tried to use the frequency of peripheral lymphocyte satellite nuclei (micronucleus) as an auxiliary indicator for early diagnosis of radiation damage. Matter and Schmid believe that chromosomal aberrations lose centromere fragments in the late phase of mitosis and show one or more round bodies in the cytoplasm, which are consistent with the main nucleus and form a “micronucleus”. Heddle highly values and recommends this method, It is thought that chromosome damage can be measured. This inspection method is called “Micronucleus Test.”
