1946年,高长海、尹长贵、吴金生、田文富等人合伙在状元镜开了一个菜馆,取名“义记复兴菜馆”,生意十分红火,名满南京。五十年代,搬迁到建康路16号,更名为“江苏酒家”,以京苏菜之正宗享誉国内外。当年,金陵饭店、玄武饭店开办之初的主厨、厨师长大都来自江苏酒家。该店经常接待来自日本、东南亚等地的回乡同胞,外籍华人和外宾;代表南京市、江苏省与外国同行交流;派厨师去涉外饭店参与接待外国领导人。
