基督教伦理是一种“他力”伦理,以信仰为基础,凭借上帝的救赎力量来成就人的道德世界;儒家伦理则是一种“自力”伦理,认为人可以依靠自身的道德努力,在现世实现“天命在身”的超越追求。儒家伦理这种天命在身的情怀和自我的道德努力,一方面构成了儒家信念中的伟大要素和高贵的精神品格;另一方面,由于天命与人心的一体化,最终使得天命丧失了绝对超验的资格,使儒家对最高价值的追求陷入困境。因此,借鉴基督教的他力观念,反思自身的文化局限和观念缺失是很有意义的。
