江阴市位于长江三角洲中心,土地面积占全国万分之一,人口占全国千分之一,去年完成国内生产总值（328亿元）占全国三百分之一,财政收人25.2亿元,是苏南经济较发达的地区。2000年全市乡镇工业销售收人638亿,占全市工业销售收人86.8％;利税46.5亿元,占全市工业利税80.3％。江泽民总书记考察过的华西集团、阳光集团等一批乡镇企业集团完成了产品经营向资本经营的突破。农业产业结构调整向生态农业、现代化农业、多种特种养殖业发展的步伐明显加快。 根据全国农业和农村档案工作会议的部署,江阴市档案局紧紧围绕农业和农村经济工作中心;抓住三个重点——乡镇企业集团、农业科技档案、村级档案管理,推动全市档案事业的全面发展。
