漫画在中国只作为一种“讽刺与幽默”的年代似乎就要过去。自从十万匹马力的阿童木登上中国大陆大受欢迎以来,机器猫、七龙珠、福星小子、圣斗士星矢、乱马、美少女战士……数年间纷至沓来。时至今日,日本漫画已经在中国养成了大批爱好者,当年的阿童木迷如今已长成青年,而他们身后,更是后继不乏。原先几分钱甚至一两分钱就可以看一本“小人书”的租书行当,早些年几乎灭绝,近年却死灰复燃,而且颇有盛于当年之势。有心人会发现它朱颜已改:原先的“小人书”已被结构、技法以及出发点都迥然不同的连环漫画所替代。本文所谈论的“漫画”,指的就是这种连环漫画。
