一、葛在日本和美国的情况日本古代就用葛织布和作牛马饲料。直到现在,日本的静冈县桂川市、佐贺县唐津市佐志等地,还作为家庭副业生产少量葛布。葛大约在1876年由日本传入美国。美国西部土壤流失严重,特别是科罗拉河含沙量很大,流出的泥沙使河床剧烈上升,经常造成泛滥,后来将葛作为一种水土保持植物进行栽植试验,结果证明葛不苛求土壤,繁殖力很强,收到了极好的保持水土效果。
