语言学意义上的多模态隐喻是指话语符号隐喻的多样性,其研究范围超越了语言符号,涉及空间、身体、声音、色彩等多个符号,研究意义涉及文化、政治、历史等多个领域。在多模态隐喻的观照下,《八佰》和《金刚川》电影中的他者隐喻、物象隐喻以及空间隐喻,分别表征为多元叙事与身份证明、具体物象与个人话语、多地共生与现代想象,并凸显为中国革命历史题材电影的创新发展。
近年来,中国电影致力于用丰富的女性形象折射现代社会女性意识觉醒的历史进程。电影《我的姐姐》中“潜在”的女性形象安然是否送养弟弟的开放性结局引起了巨大的争议,然而从“弱”男性与“强”女性的二元对立、父权制家庭意识形态和女性家庭角色嬗变以及传统社会伦理与现代女性意识冲突等层面看,该选择是安然“想象中社会的我”与“现实中家庭的我”之间的矛盾,与其自我实现并无本质冲突。影片通过虚假的二元对立使得女性意识的自我觉醒再次重蹈男权话语的覆辙。
电影中的动物隐喻是以动物的某种固有特征来投射人的思维与行为,通过建立人与动物之间的共性联动,形成特定的象征意义与叙事策略。管虎作为“第六代导演”的代表人物之一,被称为导戏“鬼才”,他的影视作品极具个人风格,动物隐喻是管虎电影中视听语言的创新之一,也是他最常用的叙事手法之一。动物隐喻使情节更加具有张力,留给观众无限的遐想和思考。本文仅以管虎电影为例,进而阐释动物隐喻在电影叙事中的美学内涵。
