兰州军区柔道队自1990年组建以来，参加国际国内大赛共获得金牌29枚、银牌 19枚、铜牌30枚，培养运动健将18人。先后 10次组队出国比赛，100多人次代表国家和军队出访15个国家和地区，其中１人参加了第27届悉尼奥运会。先后有4人荣获军区及甘肃省“十大杰出青年”称号，13人次荣立二等功，50人次荣立三等功，这支团结奋斗、顽强拼搏的柔道队，在国际国内赛场上打出了国威军威。
