胰腺产生激素的肿瘤的尸检发生率为0.5~1.5%。最近发现了各种精化道激素以及先进的检查方法,对胰腺产生激素的肿瘤的研究有迅速的进展。内分泌细胞与肿瘤:按Lausanne 分类(1977年),成人胰岛内分泌细胞分为五种细胞:产生胰高血糖素的A 细胞,产生胰岛素的B 细胞,产生生长抑制素的D 细胞,产生VIP(舒血管肠肽)的D,细胞以及产生胰多肽(pp)的D:细胞,除分别产生上述激素外,还可能产生其它生物活性物质。胰腺内分泌肿瘤一般以产生的激素各加上瘤字来命名:如高血糖素瘤、胰岛素瘤、生长抑制素瘤、舒血管肠肽瘤(Vipoma)、胰多肽
