霞浦县东吾洋区域,位于北纬26°45′左右,地形地貌独特;年平均温度18.8℃,一月平均温度10℃左右,7～8月平均气温28℃,极端最低温0.5℃,极端最高温度39℃,年10℃以上有效积温6300℃,年降雨量1200～1300mm,无霜期长,适于荔枝生长。据县志考证七百多年前就有种植荔枝的记载。因该地域热量丰富,发展荔枝生产得天独厚,以其优质、迟熟、焦核率高而闻名。
