The Journal of Qiushi (No. 5, 1991) published the same title article of Sun Suliu, stating: The U.S. interest in Chinese culture can be traced back to the late 18th and early 19th of the century. A large number of Chinese books were introduced through the translation of European characters To the United States. Influenced by Chinese culture, Emerson and Thoreau were the representatives of American transcendentalism in the 1930s and 1940s.
