钍的氧化矿物——方钍石、铀方钍石和铀钍铅矿是伟晶岩和交代作用的产物。方钍石和晶质铀矿是等结构的(萤石型立方体构造),具有可以比拟的晶格常数,并且化学键的性质相类似,这些保证了在方钍石和晶质铀矿间形成固溶体的连续系列。这点,无论天然的,还是人工的属于ThO_2—UO_2系统的混合氧化物,都直接由伦琴射线资料证明了。同时可以推测,铀主要呈四价状态。关于在铀的氧化物中,大量六价铀的含量对于其与钍的氧化物的类质同象,看来比较复杂,
