Due to long-term immersion in its glorious ancient academic tradition, it is generally believed that China lacks academic originality and is only longer than imitation rather than innovation. China has tried its best to get rid of this view. Some people attribute this lack of creativity to China’s Confucian tradition for thousands of years, including its emphasis on hierarchy, respect for the elderly, and the way it is done. Others believe that due to its annoyingly complicated writing system, basic mastery of writing requires that pupils spend a great deal of time for mechanical imitation and memorization, rather than for their ability to create and analyze thinking. . Some even pushed the reason to the bureaucratic education system in China, which was copied from the former Soviet Union in the early 1950s when New China was established.
