It has been thirty years since the translation of the famous long poem by the British romantic master Byron, “Childe Harolds Travels” (hereinafter referred to as “Travels”), was introduced to China. For thirty years, the minister’s poem seems to have formed a definite reduction in our country’s foreign literary critics. In other words, the two protagonists in Travelogue embody the contradictions of Byron’s thought in different aspects: Halorde embodies Byron Negative aspects of thought, lyrical protagonists embody the positive aspects of Byron’s thought. There are still many people that Halorde’s image with the poet’s autobiographical nature. These claims lack convincing evidence and are debatable.
