传统的体育专业篮球普修课教学方法往往是教师讲解、示范,学生练习,然后教师纠正错误,学生把所学知识巩固提高、运用。这种单一模式,也就是人们常指责的“注入式”、“填鸭式”教学。随着素质教育的发展,篮球课教学模式应从单一向发展,构建“教师为主导,学生为主体性”的主体性体育教学模式,通过篮球课堂的学习,让学生掌握篮球运动的基本理论知识的基本技能,达到“会学、会教、会组织”的目标。
