香榧(Torreya grandis Fort exLindl),别名细榧、榧子树,属红豆杉科Taxaceae常绿乔木,是我国特有的优良油料和用材树种,有栽培和野生。种子营养丰富,胚乳含油脂45％,粗蛋白质21％左右,碳水化合物28％,矿物质2.8％,油的碘值124.90(韦氏法),皂化值189.46,属半干性油;炒熟后松脆可口,具有特殊香味,是我国著名的干果和优良食用油。在医药上,榧子具有止咳,润肺,消痔,驱蛔,消积,润燥等功效。木材黄白色,纹理通直,结构细致,硬度适中,不翘不裂,耐腐力强,有弹性,为造船、建筑、枕木、桥梁、家具等优质良材。树冠开展,枝叶浓密,树姿优美,四季常青,也是良好的庭园观尝树种。
