MTU公司对新的2000和4000系列柴油机零部件的使用寿命和可靠性提出了高的要求。为了实现柴油机研制之初所定义的活塞可靠性的任务,Mahle公司制定出了详细的措施,以保证活塞的可靠性超过所要求的运行时间。新系列柴油机活塞的一个共同特征是采用了由特种黄铜制造的衬套。与无衬套结构的活塞相比,采用衬套的活塞的承载能力显著提高。尽管活塞承受的部分机械负荷提高了,但是经过优化的活塞冷却油的供应和输送装置保证局部高温处的材料的疲劳强度保持在允许的范围内。
MTU places high demands on the service life and reliability of the new 2000 and 4000 Series diesel engine components. In order to fulfill the mission of piston reliability defined at the outset of the diesel engine, Mahle developed detailed measures to ensure that the reliability of the piston exceeded the required run-time. A common feature of the new series of diesel pistons is the use of bushings made of specialty brass. Compared with the piston without bushing structure, the bearing capacity of piston with bushing is greatly improved. Despite the increased mechanical load on the piston, the optimized supply and delivery of piston cooling oil ensures that the fatigue strength of the material at high local temperatures remains within acceptable limits.
