辛亥革命在中国近代史乃至世界近代史上具有划时代的意义和不可磨灭的影响。在这场波澜壮阔意义非凡的革命中,海外华侨做出了巨大的贡献。《华侨与辛亥革命》以翔实的史料展现了爱国华侨身在国外,心怀祖国,对民主共和事业从人力、财力、物力等各方面倾力支援。他们积极组建革命组织,培养革命志士;不怕流血牺牲,英勇参加斗争;创办报刊书社,传播革命思想;踊跃捐助军需饷银,开展武装起义,终至推翻了清朝统治,建立了中华民国。孙中山不止一次赞誉“华侨是革命之母”、“华侨有功革命”。
The Revolution of 1911 has epoch-making significance and indelible influence in the modern history of China and even in the modern history of the world. Overseas Chinese in this great and extraordinary revolution have made tremendous contributions. The overseas Chinese and the Revolution of 1911 showcased patriotic overseas Chinese with abundant historical materials. While living abroad, they cherished the motherland and backed the democratic republican cause from manpower, financial resources and material resources. They actively set up revolutionary organizations and fostered revolutionary intellectuals. They were not afraid of bloodshed and sacrifice, they bravely participated in the struggle. They founded newspapers and periodicals and spread revolutionary ideas. They enthusiastically donated money to the army and conducted armed uprisings. They eventually overthrew the rule of the Qing Dynasty and established the Republic of China. Sun Yat-sen more than once praised “overseas Chinese is the mother of revolution ”, “active revolution of overseas Chinese ”.
