辽北—吉南地区出露有两种类型绿岩带。清原型绿岩带的原岩建造为连续分异的火山—沉积岩系组成， 主要由下部拉斑玄武岩、少量钙碱性玄武岩和中上部的钙碱系列安山岩—英安岩—流纹岩和沉积岩所构成， 其形成的古构造环境为类似于现代岛弧的大陆边缘活动带。其中赋存有丰富的块状硫化物矿床， 其次为铁矿和金矿。夹皮沟型绿岩带的原岩建造为相对分异的火山—沉积岩组合， 主要由下部的拉斑玄武岩、少量钙碱性玄武岩和中上部的长英质火山岩和沉积岩所组成， 其形成的古构造环境为大陆边缘裂谷或弧后盆地型火山—沉积盆地， 其中赋存有丰富的金矿、铁矿。绿岩带主要遭受了低角闪岩相区域变质作用 （５６０℃±６０℃， ０４～０５９ Ｇ Ｐａ）， 其形成时代为２５００～２９００ Ｍａ。绿岩带有关金矿具 “一老 （新太古代—古元古代） 一新 （中生代）”的成矿规律。

The greenstone belts mainly met the metamorphism (560 ℃ ± 60 ℃, 04 ~ 059 G Pa) in the low-amphibolite facies, and the formation time is 2500 ~ 2900 Ma.
