The biological characteristics of tumors are not only regulated by oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, but also depend on the microenvironment formed by their interstitial and other factors. The basement membrane, immune cells, capillaries, fibroblasts and extracellular matrix (ECM) together form the tumor stroma, which is similar to the stroma during wound healing. The stromal tumor is also a reactive stroma ). However, fibroblasts are the main functional cells in the activation mesenchyme, and their relationship with the occurrence and development of tumors is increasingly becoming a research hotspot. This article aims to explore the biological characteristics of tumor-associated fibroblasts (CAF) and its research progress and direction.
