为了贯彻煤炭综合利用的方针,应用电站粉煤进行干馏,以制取液体燃料和化学产品,并使半焦作为锅炉的燃料,从而进行了煤的动力工艺综合利用。我院师生员工根据实验室流化干馏研究结果,设计和建立了日处理量10吨煤的半工业试验装置,作为推广及建立工业装置之依据。本厂建在学校锅炉房旁边,亦可使学校用煤得到部分的综合利用,同时建立本厂的目的,也是为了贯彻学校办工厂的方针,师生参加生产劳动,理论联系实际,教育与生产相结合。建厂是采取土洋结合的方针;尽量少用钢材,全厂钢材耗量不到二吨,绝大多数设备都是砖结构,如反应器亦是红砖砌成。设计及基建时间共约两个月,
