Researchers at the University of Michigan in the United States urological Association (AUA) annual meeting in 2005 in the form of posters pointed out that people living in underground sewage or waste incineration plants near the bladder cancer risk was significantly higher. The findings suggest that chemical leaks into groundwater or other forms of localized environment can put residents in these areas at risk of bladder cancer or other urinary tract cancers.
