第七届现代应用文国际研讨会于2003年10月22日至26日在香港大学举行。来自内地、香港、台湾、澳门、新加坡、澳大利亚等地区和国家的100多位专家、学者、教师出席了会议。会议收到80余篇论文,并进行了交流。澳大利亚悉尼大学教授、著名英国语言学家韩礼德先生出席了会议,并应邀作了学术报告。这次会议以应用文语言、语境、语用为探讨的主题,同时对应用写作的发展趋势、种类、写作方法以及教学方法等各方面问题开展了广泛的讨论。某些方面的研究取得明显的成果和进展。这次会议重点探讨了系统功能理论在应用写作中的运用。在这方面,香港大学、香港理工大学、华中农业大学以及新加坡南洋理工大学近年来都开展了比较广泛和深入的研究,
The Seventh International Symposium on Modern Applied Languages was held at Hong Kong University from October 22 to October 26, 2003. More than 100 experts, scholars and teachers from the Mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao, Singapore and Australia attended the conference. The conference received more than 80 papers and conducted exchanges. Mr. Halliday, a famous British linguist and professor at the University of Sydney in Australia, attended the conference and was invited to give an academic report. This conference explores the theme of application language, context and pragmatics. At the same time, it discusses the development trends, types, writing methods and teaching methods of application writing. Some aspects of the research achieved significant results and progress. The conference focused on the application of system function theory in applied writing. In this regard, Hong Kong University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Huazhong Agricultural University and Singapore Nanyang Technological University have carried out relatively extensive and in-depth studies in recent years.
