马友友,国际顶尖的旅美华裔大提琴家。他高大俊朗,温文尔雅,总是面带微笑,是一个极具亲和力的人。欧美有一句流行语:“早安!马友友;晚安!罗斯特罗波维奇。”这颇能说明马友友与卡萨尔斯和罗斯特罗波维奇已形成大提琴演奏家前后三代的顶级人物。他最大的目标就是将音乐化为人类沟通的语言,跨越世界不同种族,拉近人与人之间的距离。为达到这个目的,他投身于研究国乐、中国传统乐器、非洲卡拉哈利的丛林音乐等。
Yo-Yo Ma, the world’s top Chinese American cellist. He is tall and handsome, gentle, always smiling, is a very friendly person. There is a catchphrase in Europe and the United States: “Good Morning! Yo-Yo Ma; Good Night! Rostropovich.” This shows Yo-Yo Ma and Casals and Rostropovich have formed the top three generations of cellists character. His biggest goal is to turn music into the language of human communication, across different ethnic groups in the world, to narrow the distance between people. To this end, he devoted himself to studying Chinese music, traditional Chinese musical instruments, and jungle music in Kalahali, Africa.
