People’s demand for increasing single-cylinder power and boost pressure and lowering the price of diesel engines will be increasingly pressing. This will require that the turbocharger boost pressure be raised to 4.5 in the future. In this paper, the influence of the compressor rotor blade number on the characteristic field of the compressor is expounded, and the calculation results and the test work on a newly developed turbine blade are described. The structure of a new series of turbochargers and the research results on vibration and flow characteristics are introduced. With sufficient surge safety, turbocharger efficiency is about 60% when boost ratio π = 4.5.
