广西《图书馆界》1992年第4期刊登了毛玉玲同志关于《设置中医男科学类目刍议》一文(以下简称《刍议》),读后有同感。男科学是一门既古老又年轻的新兴学科。早在公元前三世纪的古典医籍中就开始有一些男科病名的记载,以后每一个时期的医学文献对男子生殖生理特征、性事的养生保健等都有进一步的描述,但尚未形成系统,而且混在内科系统之中,故以往的图书分类法尚未为之单独立类。随着医学科学的发展和七十年代男科学在国际上的崛起,八十年代以后中医男科学则以古老而又年轻的形象脱颖而出,研究中医男科学的文献陆续问世,从其发展的趋势来看,
