Although some parents continue to use training distance as a measure of coaching skills, the competition for deciding which trainer will allow his team members to complete the most training sessions seems to be coming to an end. A daily training of a total of 16,000 yards of passages of 50, 100 or 200 yards makes no sense, at least on the surface. What are the other criteria for judging a quality training program? I think it is speed of development, and speed training is one of the least valued training methods of today. Sometimes trainers use speed training only at the end of the training cycle. I think speed training should occupy a place at the very beginning of the entire training program, even if it is to arrange a group of 4 × 25 yards. Speed training can lead to physical changes: muscles are more potent, neuromuscular systems adapt to fast-paced, and adenosine triphosphate (muscular “fuel”) in muscles is increased.
